SEA Awards

Every year members ONLY children are invited to register for our SEA Awards Ceremony which usually takes place in the month of July. Each child is given a monetary contribution with a percentage towards opening an account at the Credit Union and balance in Cash.

Members are advised that as soon as their child’s results are in, fill out the registration form and attached the child’s result slip.

Our special Angela Guerra-Williams Memorial Award for Excellence in Education will be awarded to the child with the highest scores.

Retirees Group

The Retirees Group was founded in 2010 and the purpose of the group is for retired members to strengthen the Credit Union by coming together and share experiences. It is also an avenue that retired members are kept informed of what is taking place at the Credit Union and at their former workplace the Government Printery.

For the past seven years, meeting are kept on the first Thursday of every month. At these meeting members of the group Birthdays are celebrated and correspondences such as donations to worthy charities are considered.

Field Trip – On the last Thursday of every month a field trip is plan by the group to visit different places in Trinidad and Tobago. Once a year an overseas trip is also organised.

One of the major fun-raiser for the group is the “After Work Lime” for the Carnival Season. It is usually held three weeks before the Carnival week.

Credit Union Week

International Credit Union (ICU) Day is celebrated the third week of October of every year. The day is to recongise the Credit Union Movement and to promote its achievements.

At the Government Printery Credit Union we start our celebration by attending the opening ceremony on the Sunday and have an event on the Thursday which is Credit Union Day.

We also have our annual Blood Sugar, Blood Pressure and Cholesterol testing facilitated by our faithful volunteers from the Lions Club of Tunapuna.

Members can contact the Credit Union the week before to participate in the activities.

Children Christmas Party

The Children’s Christmas Party is held annually on the first or second Saturday of December. It is subsided for members ONLY children and registration forms are available at the Credit Union from first week of November of each year.

The children has a wonderful afternoon filled with collection of toys and party bags, refreshments such as ice cream, hot-dogs, pop-corn and soft drinks/juice. Fun games were had in the form of Musical Chairs which had great prizes to be won. There are addition activities such as bouncy castle, balloon twisting and Pony rides.

The Education Committee also had funds stalls such as Tin Pan Alley, Hoop La, etc. Drinks and food were on Sale.
